>This appears to be about six months older than the oldest posting by me which the shiny new "HP Communities" forum admits to.   Lost and gone forever?

The data is there but unless you used the google cache right away, you won't be able to find it by the threadId now.

If you know what it is related to, you could search the forum.

It may be possible for Kevin_Paul to still look these up?

( I've added a tag to your post as a hint that he should fix it.  ;-)

Have you tried sending a PM to Kevin_Paul?  At least to answer this topic.

Perhaps he needs a little prodding?  :-)

>"What happened to old postings (from its old, dead predecessors)?".

This question has already been answered, they ARE there.  It's the URLs that are broken.

>As I suggested a couple of months ago, when I asked for a list of all my forum postings, the oldest one I saw was about six months newer than the one for which I was looking.

I didn't know it was your posting.  And misunderstood what you were trying to say.  I just assumed it was an interesting non sequitur.  Since I also can only see 100 pages of my posts but I can search and find ones from 2006.

If it's yours, you can try a forum search with your name (finds 2000+ and 700+ for OpenVMS) or use mr google.

And if you know some of the contents, that would even better.

Unfortunately a forum search doesn't give too many options for older date ranges.  And fiddling with the search URL is detected and ignored.  :-(

>More evidence of a well considered and well executed migration plan.

I completely agree, with your sarcasm.

Initially there were many requests for threadId look up right after the migration and could be solved by the google cache.

>but the Search function of the shiny new Forum tends to seize/hang my usual Web browser

Instead use mr google with site:h30499.www3.hp.com.

>I've been poking this thread occasionally, with no obvious result.

I assume there is only one human in the whole world that can do it, so a directed PM may be the only way?  ;-)

And with a later change, it is no longer orange colored so even harder to notice.

You can get private messages converted to mail notifications:

Didn't I say that several times?
