11.00/64 and E/ISA support?

Did they drop E/ISA support for 11.00 64 bit? I am trying to get a 100VG card (J2577) to work in a C160 but I can't find a driver for it. It shows up for a 32 bit install. Any insite?

Re: 11.00/64 and E/ISA support?

Hi:

EISA cards are not supported for 64-bit 11.x.

Regards!

Re: 11.00/64 and E/ISA support?

EISA is not compatible with any version of 64-bit 11.x. The rule is, if you want 64-bit (in a machine that will support 64-bit), you remove the EISA cards.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

This doesn't answer your question, but here is link to HP's support matrix for hardware platform to OS releases:

Hi Charles

No it is not supported , all you can do is wither cahnge the LAN CARD to something which is supoorted or , use the default netwrok port .

you may also look at the following ;

Hi,

For EISA cards you will have to load a 32-Bit version of HP-UX.

64 bit HPUX does not support EISA cards since the EISA technology is 32 bit.

Thanks, that explains it.
Well there goes my Service Guard cluster unless someone knows a PCI card that I can use?

100VG is like Betamax -- a better idea but the rest of the industry went with 100BaseT instead (a long time ago). It's going to get more and more difficult to support a 100VG LAN in the future.

I wasn't using the 100vg, there is also a 10base t port on that card that I wanted to use for my heart beat link for my cluster.
