Has anyone installed oracle9i on 32 bit HP? When you run getconf KERNEL_BITS on HP - UX what do you see before you installed oracle? - Thanks

Re: 32 bit application on 64 bit oracle9i with 64 bit HP-UX 11
Read the prior thread.
Now that we're in the world of 64 bit OS, you have flexibility. You an compile and run 32 bit apps on a 64 bit HP-UX system. I'm currently running ias 1.0.2.2 32 bit on 64 bit HP-UX 11.11 in production on rp5450 boxes. No trobles at all, the link program for the 32 bit ias works great. The back end database is 8.1.7.4 64 bit.
I can't give you compile instructions, but most 32 bit applications will work after compiling with their normal compile instructions. You may have to set a variable or add a command line switch.
Not all 32 bit apps are supported on 64 bit HP-UX but many are.
