SolutionWhen you open and ISDN connection, you open 1 or 2 channels, each of 64 k. Increasing modem speed wont' resolve things, what you have to set up is to use 2 channels instead of one...
User under rh8 hat / system settings /network device control, and add a new interace, which will be your isdn adapter, and chekc to use both B channels.
Here is Red Hat tip on this :
http://www.europe.redhat.com/documentation/rhl8.0/rhl-cg-en-8.0/s1-network-config-isdn.php3
Once you've done it, select this interface in your kppp connection, it should work.

Re: 3com U.S Robotics ISDN TA in Linux
In your kppp, what is connection speed ?
Run 'network device configuration' select you isdn device, click 'configure', go to 'advanced' and check that 'Use channel assembler' is selected.

Re: 3com U.S Robotics ISDN TA in Linux
Try to add values by yourself, selecting another US robotics device, under isdn section, it's quite standard values. But in my RH9 box, us robotics is seen in the list... maybe try to download from us robotics site a driver if you don't succeed.
