A question about orapwd

Hey buddy
When I "sqlplus /nolog" and "conn / as sysdba" then press "orapwd" it says "unknown command"
Why
Can you help me?

Because orapwd is not an SQL*Plus command. It's a utility you run from the HP-UX shell command line as the oracle user.

Hi,
I suspect you are following a script too literally. orapwd is also a place holder to say Oracle password.
e.g.
usr/orapwd means userid and oracle password

Hi, what are you trying to do?

orapwd is an oracle shell utility to set database internal password. Use is:

orapwd file=[Path to password-file] password=[sys password]
