Activating VG at start (Swap)

I have created a device swap on my HPUX 10.20 machine. It functions correctly, and is entered in the /etc/fstab, however it has one issue.

On a restart, the VG is not activated. I must go into SAM after each restart, activate the VG and then use swapon to start the swap file. It works fine after this, but how can I get it to activate automatically and thus have the swap start automatically?

Thanks for the help!

Re: Activating VG at start (Swap)

Check that the line AUTO_VG_ACTIVATE in the /etc/lvmrc file is set to 1.

If I had only read the instructions first??

In /etc/fstab /dev/vgxx/lvolxx swap defaults 0 0.

Re: Activating VG at start (Swap)

AUTO_VG_ACTIVATE might be set to 0 if you are in a clustered environment or are using Oracle parallel server. In that case you will need to add teh VG to the custom_vg_activation function of /etc/lvmrc.
