Alarm when backup fails

Hi,
I need to set up an automatic alarm when a critical backup stops.

Does anyone know how to make omniback alarm to syslog or to an external script as soon as a backup fails?

Regards

Re: Alarm when backup fails

Theres an option for any Omniback backup job to define a PRE or POST-EXEC backup script. This is where you place your code (POST-EXEC). Once the backup completes or fails it will run this script. Then you need to check if the backup completed ok or failed, and then you can do whatever you like - use the logger command to write something to syslog, or we use xdialog to send an X popup window to some users X displays.
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...
