Ask about memory consumption in HP ux

Hi guys,

In my one system the memory information is:
Total VM : 88.0gb Sys Mem : 12.0gb User Mem: 53.2gb Phys Mem : 87.8gb
Active VM: 80.9gb Buf Cache: 7.0gb Free Mem: 15.6gb FileCache: na

But in the second server is:
Total VM : 20.4gb Sys Mem : 4.1gb User Mem: 12.8gb Phys Mem : 56.0gb
Active VM: 20.1gb Buf Cache: 18.9gb Free Mem: 20.1gb FileCache: na

Could you please tell which server is healtier?

for configuring the buffer cache please let me know the OS version.

The OS is probably 11.23 since it says buffer cache.

Each system has 15GB of more free memory both systems are just as healthy. As long as you have > 1 GB of free memory the system is healthy and you are not paging.

What is the CPU utulization average and load average. IF the load average is about 1 or less then there is no contention on the system and programs are getting as much CPU as they want.

DO you have any disks that are over 50% utilized in I/o not capacity.
