Audio on a HP C3750 workstation

We recently received four new C3750 workstations with audio included on the mother board. They came loaded with 11.0 and we rebuilt them using a local Ignite depot with HPUX 11i TCOE, 9/2001 release. A user is trying to listen to a CD using 'xmcd' ,has his headphones plugged into the headphone jack on the back of the workstation, and is getting nothing. There are two Aserver processes running as should be. What else needs to be done in order for the user to listen to their CD. The CD unit is a CDWriter that came with the workstation.
