Boot from USB CDROM

System is a Armada M300 laptop under Win98 with only a USB port ATAPI CDROM drive. Am expert in Linux. Wish to boot from a Mandrake Linux install CD. Are there any DOSsy drivers which will support CDROM access upon boot, so that the boot under Win98 will recognize the CDROM drive?

Under linux kernel 2.4.19 on a Gateway Solo laptop, the USB-CDROM assembly is recognized as usb-storage, but is not being served by any drivers. All CDROM choices under usb-storage have been compiled in without helpring. For service of Smart Card memory, usb-storage access is effectiive with the card recognized as a SCSI drive
