C++ Compiler products

I am in the process of installing Oracle 10g and found out that it requires me to have the following compilers installed:

·HP C Compiler (B.11.11.12)

·HP aC++ Compiler (aCC A.03.60) - $ approx cost 1,525.00

·CGG compiler gcc 3.4.0 (64-Bit) for 11 V1 - Free GNU software

Does anyone know if I need to purchase the HP C Compiler as well - or is this available via ITRC?

Thanks.

Re: C++ Compiler products

The HP C++ (aCC) compiler will compile C++ and ANSI/C as will any C++ compiler. The only time you would need the HP C Compiler is if you also need to do development work in K&R C as well because the HP C Compiler speaks ANSI/C and K&R C. I strongly suspect that any production C was converted from K&R syntax to ANSI years ago.
If it ain't broke, I can fix that.

Re: C++ Compiler products

It looks like I need to purchase the C++ Compiler which will address this.

Thanks.
