Can HPUX11 run on RX2620 ?

We need new server (itanium) but with old OS, HP-UX B.11.00 U 9000/800 1107941537 because our application only run on this version.
Can HP-UX B.11.00 run on new hardware (itanium or else). any sugest ?

Hi Elang,

No it is not possible to run HPUX 11.0 on Itanium systems, you will need to find an older PA-Risc system like the RP24XX or the RP54XX. Have a look at this overview.

HP don't sell any systems that will run 11.00 - in fact 11.00 is out of support,

So if you really want a system that will run 11.00 - ebay?

Alternatively have you considered running your app under ARIES on an Integrity system? You'd need to make sure you copied over all the PA-RISC libraries that the app uses, but it might work. Not sure how this can be worse than your curremt "unsupported" situation anyway.

How do you know, have you experimented?
Integrity systems can run PA executables using Aries as Duncan said.

You do know that 11.00 isn't supported?

No.

You don't want to run this application on an unsupported OS.

You need to update your application.

Your only option if the application can not be ported is to run the application on old hardware. There is plenty of PA-RISC hardware on ebay and other places for a very good price.

We already use this way, but still doesn't work. We also re-compile that appl, but not work.

Do you have any more details? Wrong answers, hangs, aborts, unsats?
