Hi all
I try to install SuSE Linux 8.1 on a proliant 1850R.
The system reads from CD1 and opens YAST. I select the language (EN US) and accept.
The system analyzes and loads kernels. The screen changes to:
Mode: new installation
Keyboard layout: English (US)
After that everything is blocked:
no mouse
no keyboard
no nothing is working any more.
What can I do?
What is going wrong?
Many thanks
Juerg

At the boot prompt from the install cd (cd1) you can pass parameters like (have a look at the following link this is from RedHat but theses param would be the same)
http://www.redhat.com/docs/manuals/linux/RHL-9-Manual/install-guide/ch-bootopts.html
But before you do that when you are stuck try type of the following
.. UP TO ..
some of theses will show you extra install screen and mayby from there you will get more information on what is failling.
Tell us what you find then perkaps we can go futher... like pick a parameter to pass at boot time in order the continue with install
Keep us informed
