Can't log into VUE on old 715 workstation

User can't logon to his old workstation as root. None of the other users can log in either. May be the passwd file is lost.

Model 715/100xc (A4340A)and the OS is suspected to be 10.20 or 9.x.

hpux -is or lm or lq won't work. It just loops back to ILS> prompt.

How do I go to single usermode?

Could be 10.20 or 9.x, if I remember we used to go into single user by typing
hpux -is(;0) /stand/vmunix or
hpux -is /stand/vmunix.BCKUP (to use an older vmunix)

Out of memory I think it was a capital S.

ISL> hpux -iS disc(;0)/hp-ux
