Cannot log into HP-UX itanium rx2800

I just had this problem where suddenly I cannot ssh into my HP-UX itanium, but still can ping. Few hours before that, I was still able to so. I tried to force reboot (Pressing the power button). Then, I cannot ssh or ping to the server anymore. My only available option now is to use a serial monitor. After connecting through serial, I found out that all the command in normal shell are now unable to use. Have anyone ever tried debuging using a serial connection? I've googled for manual or guide but still can't find any.

Here is a detail of the server:

> HP-UX itanium rx2800
>
> HP serial monitor EM100

EDIT: I've add some picture to show help explain more on the error that I'm having. Because I dont have any clue whats happening. I'm suspecting that the server cannot enter the normal boot anymore.  Is there any way for me to check either its caused by hardware failure or the system just suddenly crash by itself?

EDIT: I've attached 2 more picture showing the display when the server first boot up. SCSI is the hard disk that the server is using..

EDIT: I tried to reset back the configuration following this link, but the shell doesnt understand the command, where I always get

Exit code: Invalid argument

What errors do you get?

Re: Cannot log into HP-UX Integrity rx2800

When is tried ls command, it says

Exit status code : No mapping

Then I tried pwd, it says

Exit status code : Invalid parameter

After doing search on internet, I found out that I'm on EFI Shell. But still, this command is suppose to work in the EFI Shell. right?

Obviously the system is not able to boot up.

Could you please capture the console starting from power on?

Hope this helps!

Re: Cannot log into HP-UX Integrity rx2800

It is a rx2600, right?

the server cannot find the disks.

Maybe you need to replace the disk and restore your backup.

Hope this helps!

Re: Cannot log into HP-UX Integrity rx2800

I've tested the hard disk into a HP-UX PARISC. I tried to run this command to get the disk info:

/usr/sbin/ioscan -C disk

result:

result: DVD drive
        Compaq
        HP

HP is the hard disk from itanium and Compaq is the dafault hard disk from the HP-UX PARISC.

Then i run this command:

/usr/sbin/diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c2t1d0

vendor: HP 36.4G
product id: ST336753LC
type: direct access
size: 0 kbytes
bytes per sector: 0

/usr/sbin/diskinfo /dev/rdsk/c2t0d0

vendor: COMPAQ
product id: BF03688575
type: direct access
size: 35566000 kbytes
bytes per sector: 512

By comparing, seems like the hard disk from my itanium is broken. Is there any way for me to restore it? Or maybe initialized it back so it can be used? Or is it 100% totally broken and unable to be use anymore?

Re: Cannot log into HP-UX Integrity rx2800

Look at the size, this disk is really dead.

Hope this helps!
