Changing print quality with M/S Word locks up computer

When using our HP Deskjet 722C and Microsoft Word if I try to change the print
quality from Normal to Econ the computer locks up and will not respond. The
only way out is the power switch on the computer. Any ideas?

What if you change the quality setting in the printer control panel? You could
try changing the default setting to Econ and switching up to Normal when
needed.

Try to isolate if the error only occurs with Word or also with other MSOffice
apps, or with any program that can print.
