Check v$database

DATABASE_ROLE: Current role of the database; either primary or standby

A rigid mind is very sure, but often wrong. A flexible mind is generally unsure, but often right.

Re: Check if Oracle 9i runningin stdby-modus

hi,

you may also check your parameters by doing:
show parameter

and also force a log switch on the primary and see if it get shipped to the standby

(depending of course if you are running on manual or automatic)

hope this helps too!

kind regards
