Compaq Presario 1260

Hi,

Not sure if this is the right forum or not. I haven't started my laptop in a couple years.
I fired it up and rec'vd this error: HIMEM.SYS is missing.

What does this mean? Any solutions?

Hi Todd...

I'd repost this in the Windows forum. Are you running Windows 9x/ME? Sounds like the file himem.sys has either been deleted or corrupted. You might be able to restore it onto your C: drive using a Windows boot floppy to enable you to get to a DOS prompt.

As I said originally though...stick this in the MS forums, you'll get a much better response probably.
