I am trying to leave Windows in the dust totally. but, the only thing that is not compable with Liniux is my iPaq. Any ideas on how to make this run in Linix.

Re: Compaq iPaq

My understanding is that ipaq will only work with windows.

There is probably some software out there, but I couldn't find it.

Here are some links to explore however....

http://www.ipaqlinux.com/

http://www.handhelds.org/

http://internet2.motlabs.com/ipaq/

This one has promise. How to install ipaq in linux.

No gaurantees....

Re: Compaq iPaq

I think I was asleep when I wrote the question. I am trying to install my Compaq iPaq on my SuSe Linux box. I am in need to a way to do this. I know offices around the country are switching to Linux and using PocketPCs. Any help?

Hi

There is gnome pilot this is started by gpilotd-control-applet from gui this in in fact the setup interface the deamon is then started.

I have not tested it as I dont have an ipaq

this can be dowloaded from the following site

http://ftp.gnome.org/pub/GNOME/sources/gnome-pilot/2.0/

you can find more info on this topic by doing a serch in google under "gnome pilot linux"

for kde environments (but also for Gnome, if you have kde installed anyway)you can use:

1) kitchensync
http://www.handhelds.org/~zecke/kitchensync.html

2) qtopiadesktop
available also for windows desktop
