Hopefully someone can clear up some confusion on my part.
I am upgrading the pdc and gsp firmware on a n class server.
PDC 40.25:
The PDC docs point to an sh PF_CPRW4025 file. All well and good...ftp, sh file, dd to tape and reboot and boot from tape, reboot normally, done!
GSP: A.01.09
The GSP docs refer to ftping locally for these files: application.rom, bootstrap.rom. upgrade.cnf. Ok, but where are they? I can't find anything on the ftp site, my search under all the hp sites came up with nothing. What am I missing...is this just part of the diag gen_release bundle?

Solution
Doug,
You find everything you need (firmware-files, cookbook) at this location.
ftp://docs.hp.com/dist/gspfirmware
We had some file corruption downloading the files with a NT PC, but it worked out well when we tried it from an HP-UX Workstation. If your LAN console is attached to the WWW you can make the download directly.
The GSP checks the files for corruption. Just in case you want to do it on your own:
sum APPLICATION.ROM
10693 2664 APPLICATION.ROM
sum BOOTSTRAP.ROM
3637 256 BOOTSTRAP.ROM
sum upgrade.cnf
7190 1 upgrade.cnf
You find everything you need (firmware-files, cookbook) at this location.

There is no good troubleshooting with bad data

Re: Confusion about 40.25 pdc and GSP A.01.09 firmware updates
Thank you Patrick, but I am still a little confused. I can not find at the ftp site any files that have application.rom. I searched the catalogue files for gsp and application.rom to no avail. Where are the *.rom and .conf files?
Thanks
Doug
