Create datafile on primary/standby Oracle 9i
Hi!
I must create a new datafile in a primary DB, but don't know, whether I have to create the same file in the stdby database. I am running Oracle 9i. I have following instructions:
1. shutdown standby database
2. create same directories on both db-servers (when using SAP, the structure requires directory for each datafile)
3. using sql create the datafile
4. start db in standby mode (startup nomount, then alter database mount standby database)
I am not sure whether the file can be created from the stdby-db automatically or has to be created manually.
Can you help?
Thank you.

Re: Create datafile on primary/standby Oracle 9i
HI again!
As I can see the stdby database has applied the redo-logs and created the file autoamtically.
So, it must be created only once in the primary DB.
Greetings!
Kalin
