DL380 Smart Array 6400 Controller + Debian
hello,
I have just purchased 4 DL380 Servers with 2x72GB and 4x18GB HDD Drivers.
The problem I have is that the SmartArray Controller for the 2x72GB works well but the extra bought Smart Array Controller 6400, which is for the 4x18GB Drives, doesn't work.
I have already read
http://forums1.itrc.hp.com/service/forums/questionanswer.do?threadId=551132
but this doesn't solve the problem.
Tried with kernel versions 2.4.27 and 2.6.7.

Re: DL380 Smart Array 6400 Controller + Debian
The DL380 and other HP/Compaq servers have a special boot disk for setting up smart arrays. Prior to installing Linux you must boot off this cd, and set up the array. Then you can do the Linux installation.

Re: DL380 Smart Array 6400 Controller + Debian
well, it wasn't a software problem.
The controller itself was broken, on the other 3 Servers it works well.
Thanks anyway.
