Simpler Navigation for Servers and Operating Systems
Completed: a much simpler Servers and Operating Systems section of the Community. We combined many of the older boards, so you won't have to click through so many levels to get at the information you need. Check the consolidated boards here as many sub-forums are now single boards.

Check with ioscan -nfCtape and after verify the write in tape with tar cv file.

with error number 5 (I/O error) See /usr/include/sys/errno.h

It is a write error, due to a flaw on the media or media has finished, other cause are posible too.

To fix the cause run xstm ( or stm) and get status for this device, whitout unload the tape.
