You should check the disk firmware on the system, both for version and consistency. According to the HPUX 11 install matls I read, there are some seagate disks that have potential problems. I had numerous problems (corruption, severe contention etc) after moving my database from 10.20 to 11.0, and mixing older disks with newer ones. My problems were nover actually resolved for cause - but with new disks they are gone.
Also, when you look in the oracle alert log - what is happening when the errors occur?
