Datebase System Slow permance.. ( Oracle 11g R2)..

Greetings ,

I hoping to get some ideas as to how I might go about fixing this problem that I think I have. I have a rx6600 server w 4 1.6Ghz cpus and I'm having some slow  performance (like its saying always 50 to 60 % CPU utilization )issues. . What do I need to look at to see why my system is  slow.

In my server each every oracle instant its take 19659M.. (Database version is Oracle 11g R2 ans Service Guard 2 node Cluster..)

Pri-Server : 32 GB Physical Memory and 8 CPU.

Scon-Server:16 GB Physical Memory and 4 CPU.

What version of HP-UX do you have?

Do you have Glance installed?

Re: Datebase System Slow performance. (Oracle 11g R2)..

Hi

These processes are from same instance. An instance is a set of memory and processes.

you can check oracle concepts  : http://docs.oracle.com/cd/B28359_01/server.111/b28318/memory.htm#i12483

You should also provide more information regarding your system being slow :

  - is this new ? if so, what has changed ?
  - are symptoms at server level ? database level ?

  - do you have database monitoring in place ? (perfstat if nothing else)

and more important would you have a baseline (performance) for your server & database.
