on the 2100 model can you turn off automatic reprint when a job fails to print completely?

Assuming that this is an HP-UX question then yes, you can.

cd /var/spool/lp/interface/model.orig
vi myprinter (where "myprinter" is your printqueue name)

There is probably a line:
TEOJ="on"
modify it to read:
TEOJ="off"

save the file and declare victory.

TEOJ=> True End of Job
