Difference betwwen Informix IDS 7.34 and Informix 7.31 UD2

hello,

We need for compatibility purpose on a SAP site to migrate from :

- Informix IDS 7.34
- Linux RedHat 6.2 Enterprise
- Kernel Linux 2.2.19 enterprise SMP
- Glibc version 2.1.3
to
- Informix 7.31.UD2
- Glibc 2.2.2
With Linux
. Redhat 7.1 / kernel 2.4.9-31enterprise
or
. Suse Linux Enterprise Server 7/kernel 2.4.18

Do you know the difference between Informix versions and if data (raw devices) can be restored or if we need to export the database ?

check the Release Notes in

$INFORMIXDIR/msg/release/en_us/0333/SERVER*.

There is no conversion necessary updating from 7.31 to 7.34 so I guess no problem when downgrading from 7.34 to 7.31.

My advise:

Do at least an dbexport before downgrading.
