Difference in contents of file /proc/driver/cciss/cciss0

Hi,

I have a HP ProLiant DL380 G3 Server & a HP ProLiant DL360 G5 Server.
Both are running RHEL4-Update 4.
Both have **2** logical disks created on the hardware RAID.
The 380 has HP Smart Array 5i Controller
and the 360 has HP Smart Array E200i Controller.

Now, when I execute 'cat /proc/driver/cciss/cciss0' on these two machines, the information that is shown varies, and I am not referring to things like IRQ, Sector Size etc.
I am pasting the parts of the output that I am interested in:

==============
For 380:
cciss0: HP Smart Array 5i Controller
Firmware Version: 2.66
...
cciss/c0d0: 72.83GB RAID 1(1+0)
For information about other logical volumes see /sys/block/cciss!c0d*
==============

For 360:
cciss0: HP Smart Array E200i Controller
Firmware Version: 1.82
cciss/c0d0: 73.37GB RAID 1(1+0)
cciss/c0d1: 73.37GB RAID 0
==============

What I am interested in knowing is why is it that on 360 I can see both the disks whereas in case of 380, it shows the first disk and for the remaining disks gives the message:
"For information about other logical volumes see /sys/block/cciss!c0d*".
Is this the expected behavior?
Who defines this behavior? Is it the firmware or is it the driver (I think it must be the latter, but not sure)?
For 380, the last firmware upgrade that I see came out on 7th July 2008 whereas the firmware that I am using on 360 was released on 17th April 2009. Did a "fix" for the above behavior go in firmware version later than 2.66 for 380?

Shalom,

DL360 and DL380 have different raid controllers. Having firmware versions roughly the same may help. It may not.

I would say based on the differences in the raid controllers (I have experience on both platforms) that this behavior is consistent and results from the hardware differences.
