Display chinese in Oracle apps

Greetings. I have changed my oracle database character set to UTF8 and installed simplified chinese (already had english). I regenerated all forms etc in both English and Chinese. The login screen shows chinese characters, and if the users ICX language is selected to Chinese, I can login using the chinese prompts. After that, all chinese characters are not displayed (boxes). Is this a Windows issue? Any ideas. Thanks

Your display uses a font that does not include Chinese characters.

The login screen might use a different font that has all the necessary characters.

This started me to thinking and it turns out that I had to install east asian language support for windows (under regional settings) and the fonts are displayed now.
