ESX WBEM error
Hi Guys,
I've added two ESXi 5.1 servers into IRS 7.0.5, but on the monitoring & collections tab I get
Protocol : Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM)
Service : Session Connection
Type : CONNECTIVITY
Status : SUCCESS
Description : "Session Connection Open in Success"
Created : 2012/11/05 09:08:00
Protocol : Web-Based Enterprise Management (WBEM)
Service : Subscription Manager
Type : SUBSCRIPTION
Status : FAILURE
Description : The WBEM subscription to msd-esx01.msd.local has failed.
Detailed : 1. Check that the connectivity check has passed. Without connectivity, subscriptions will not succeed. 2. Check that the credentials are still valid.
Created : 2012/11/05 09:08:36
The credentials I have configured for WBEM are the root account and password.
Any ideas where I am going wrong?
Cheers
Steve

Re: ESX WBEM error
Hi Steve,
Unfortunately Insight-RS 7.0.5 has not been qualified with ESXi 5.1 and is not on the supported list.
However, the steps you took seems to be the correct ones to me. It will take some more digging into the details of the failure in order to determine why the subscription did not work.
Can you please log a support case at http://www.hp.com/go/rstechsupport so that we can get information about this particular failure?
I am an HP employee.

Re: ESX WBEM error
Did anyone get a resolution to this?
I have this exact issue at the moment with ESXi 5.0 hosts

Re: ESX WBEM error
Hi,
In IRS 7 the subscription can be tested with the IRS command
- rsadmin listSubscriptions -h <monitored-host-name or IP-address>
Trying to force a subscription can be done with the command
- rsadmin config -set wbem.subscription.url=https://<monitored-host-name or IP-address>/wbem
Regards, Werner
