Erractic behaviour of java.util.TimerTask in hp-ux 11

Hi, i have a java class that makes use of java.util.TimerTask which is configured for execution for every 30 secs. But the behaviour of this is erratic in hp-ux environment. Sometimes the TimerTask gets executed exactly after 30 secs and sometimes it gets invoked only after 10 minutes. I am using JRE 1.4.2.19. Has anyone experienced a similar issue?

I know nothing, but "hp-ux 11" says almost
nothing about your HP-UX version. Actual
output from, say, "uname -a" would be more
helpful. (Same for "java -version", now that
I think about it.)

You have all the Java-related patches
installed?

And java -version
