Errors in syslog.log

I got this error in syslog.log
What does it mean?

The only thing that always remain the same are the changes.

Re: Errors in syslog.log

It appears you have an issue with how you do the time synchronixation. Could be on the external time source side.

Re: Errors in syslog.log

Hi Marty,

Definitely coming from the NTP daemon.
Check your /etc/ntp.conf for any obvious errors.
If you have multiple servers listed make sure one has a prefer statement.
You may also wish to enable statistics on NTP by adding

statsdir /var/adm/ntp
statistics loopstats
statistics peerstats
enable auth monitor

Don't forget to create /var/adm/ntp

Re: Errors in syslog.log

xntpd is an operating system daemon which sets and maintains the system time-of-day in synchronism with Internet standard time servers

The message indicates that there are no more recv buffers available at the moment. This can occur if your system is a broadcast client and many packets arrive in a short period of time. The HIGH and LOW water marks are not configurable.

Re: Errors in syslog.log

OK
I'm not sincing the time.
Im just getting it to see how the clock is holding up.
I will just turn that off and look in to that later.
Thanks for yout help.
