Event Monitor Problem

We have an Event Monitor Service Problem:

Intermitently (i.e. 2 to 3 times per week) we receive an error message from the Event Monitor dm_stape when our operator opens the door of one of our 2 DLT4500 tape libraries.

There is no fault - we have to change the tapes!

The message says: Tape at hardware path ....
door open. Severity: SERIOUS.

HP tch staff has changed the DLT4500, the SCSI controller and the SCSI cable, but the message comes back.

Any idea what could cause this wrong message?

IMHO

If the message :- Tape at hardware path ....
door open. Severity: SERIOUS
only happens when the door is opened and happens every time the door is opened to my mind this is normal.

You can run /etc/opt/resmon/lbin/monconfig command and configure ECS do not send message about that event.
