Event Monitor Restart Notification

Hi,

I get the following message when the bmhp59 server is restarted however I do not get any messages when another server bmhp60 (which should be setup the same) is restarted: -

>------------ Event Monitoring Service Event Notification ------------<

Notification Time: Thu Mar 12 15:20:14 2015

bmhp59 sent Event Monitor Restart information due to system reboot:

Title: Kernel Parameters Resource Monitor

Command: /usr/lbin/kcmond

Vendor: Hewlett-Packard Co.

Version: B.11.23

Monitor PID:  1405

Resources currently monitored:

/system/kernel_parameters/history

/system/kernel_parameters/maxfiles_lim

/system/kernel_parameters/max_thread_proc

/system/kernel_parameters/nproc

/system/kernel_parameters/nkthread

>---------- End Event Monitoring Service Event Notification ----------<

I have checked the config and they are identical I have also checked EMS but I cannot find any differences in the monitoring.

Can anyone suggest how I can get this working on the bmhp60 server?

Re: Event Monitor Restart Notification

I found the following from HP from 2007:

The "restart" notifications are not guaranteed. Sometimes they're reported, sometimes they're not. Even on the same release. Even on the same system. Even between monitors (i.e., some monitors might report them, others don't). Bottom line, one cannot count on these messages to be emitted. This is true on both HP-UX 11.11 and 11.23 releases, across many versions of EMS, back to at least A.03.20.

Not helpful, I know, but...
