Fiber channel
i have the following problem, i have an L3000 Server(hp-ux 11i) with one fiber channel card attached to a VA7400, i configure the VA with a PC and a create a lun0, so far every thing is ok, i install the Command view (1.09.00) and i ry=un the armdiscover but noting is discovered i check with fcmsutil i found the follwoing:

Do you use any SAN switch to conenct between the VA and the host..Or just directly connected to the host?
Have you tried armdsp /armdiscover after rebooting the server?

the va is attached directly to the host
and yes after restarting the server i have executed armdiscover, and armdsp and i have the same result.

Now what is the patch level of your machine.
If possible post nickel report OR the swlist output.
also #swlist -a state -l patch

I haven't tried directly connecting the va yet. I did directly connect a tape drive to the 9000 and in that case I had to hard code the AL ID in the tape drive to something other than 1. Seems both the 9000 and the tape were trying to be ID #1.
I would check the va FC topology setting and make sure its set to AL and then set the ID to something other than 1.
The fcmsutil get remote all command will tell you what other nodes the HBA can see in the fiber. Do a man for the exact syntax.
