FileManager on HP-UX 11.00 with CDE

We have a HP 9000/785 with HP-UX 11.00 & CDE.
The Filemanager uses all the resources available (up to 800MB) and it's also very slow.

We have just upgraded the machine from HP-UX 10.20 to HP-UX 11.00.

I read on your support-pages that there had been problems with HP-UX 10.20 + CDE + filemanager.. (DocID: A5432085)

Do you have any advice for this problem?

Based on HP-UX patch [PHSS_18428/PACHRDME/English] :
1. Permissions problem in dtspcd. 2. Problem with dtspcd.
3. CDE - dtpad corrupts files without notice if target filesystem is full.
4. dtpad fails to open large (>~30Mb) files. 5. Buffer overflow in libdthelp.
6. EuDelta: Cut-n-Paste using menu pulldown fails.
7. Permissions problem in /usr/dt/bin/dtterm.
8. Wants dtterm to have an option to flush the log on each write.
9. Problem in rpc.ttdbserver. 10. 11.0 CDE - DT_CONFIG_PATH components are
reversed - usr before etc. 11. dtmail does not process attachment icons
properly. 12. dtmail: drag&drop of email items into mail
folders loses attachments. 13. "About Dtmail" window has an English title.
14. dtmail does not read "signature" setting from .mailrc with "-c" option.
15. CDE - trusted system does not give passwd expiration notification.
16. CDE: "Occupy Workspace" re-appeared as moving around the workspaces.
17. DTWM leaks pixmap causing the Xserver memory to grow.

PHSS_22341 introduced a problem with CDE's file-manager dtfile. The defect number is 8606178908 / JAGad49894.

The current workaround is to use a version of libDtSvc.3 which pre-dates the version from PHSS_22341 such as that from PHSS_20864 having a build-date of: Wed May 26 13:27:59 IST 1999.

This patch can be found here:

Un-shar the file and un-tar the resulting PHSS_20864.depot file to extract libDtSvc.3. Place this in /usr/dt/lib with adequate permission & ownership replacing the file currently in-place.
