Flexible Scheduling Policies for Linux

Hello,
Just wanted to make the Linux community aware that last week HP announced a cool enhancement to the Linux scheduler. It is called Flexible Scheduling Policies, and it allows the dynamic loading of scheduler policies. For example, it is possible to load processor sets or a Fiar Share Scheduler without taking applications or the system down. You can read more about it: http://www.hp.com/go/prm.

Re: Flexible Scheduling Policies for Linux

This looks very nice indeed. I just sent an email to an old friend who does a fair amount of Linux kernel hacking. I'm sure he will give it a go. So is this HP's responce to the IBM gift to Linux of LVM?

Hi,

I reviewed your message and the PRM Solution was only for HPUX I think. There was not a
resource manager for Linux....

Hi Jim,
Sorry, I should have mentioned that you should click on "linux plug-in schedulers" in the small navigation menu on the left of the page.

Or you can go directly to it via
