Hello,
I thought my boot hard drive was going but now
I am not sure. I get the following error when
I try and boot the system.
Booting...
ENTRY_TEST status = -6
ERROR DETECTED - Replace the SCSI Host Adapter's Fuse
Failed to initialize
ENTRY_TEST status = -4
I think the -4 says that it cannot find the boot drive. I have disconnected everything but the tape drive and I cannot get it to recognize even the tape drive.
Any ideas what the -6 error really means or
where and how to replace the host adapters fuse.
I have search everywhere on the system for one and cannot locate it.
Thanks in advance.

Solution
The SCSI controllers on these old servers come with a fuse - it looks pretty standard. If youre not covered by HP support so you cant get a replacement fuse for free, remove the SCSI controller from your G60, take a look at the old fuse, and you should be able to get a replacement from many HP VAR's (resellers or 2nd hand HP vendors).
Im from Palmerston North, New Zealand, but somehow ended up in London...

Re: G60 server won't boot with ENTRY_TEST status -6
Is the fuse on the backplane/motherboard or
on the scsi/printer/Mux card?
I found one on the separate card but the
disks plug into the backplane/motherboard so
I am confused by where the fuse is?
