Graceful shutdown of MSA2040 and VMware 5.5 Hosts (2) from HP RT3000 UPS (2)
Hi
We have 2 x HP RT3000 UPS's (HP Power Protector) and I am trying to find out if it's possible to gracefully shutdown 2 Vmware hosts (v5.5) and a MSA2040 SAN after a power failure.
Has anyone had success with a similar scenario? If so, how did you do so?

Re: Graceful shutdown of MSA2040 and VMware 5.5 Hosts (2) from HP RT3000 UPS (2)
I have the same question regarding the MSA2040 array. My client wishes to run a script, triggered by an outage, to power-off the array after the hosts are shut-down. It appears that shutting down the storage controllers merly takes them offline but leaves the hardware running. This will cause thermal issues due to the shutdown of the air-con.
Is there a way to fully power off this array?
