Graphic cards trouble

Hi,

I am really into graphic interface on linux box so have been spending quite a bit of time trying to fix this. I am trying to configured a newly purchase ati hd 4770 card on my server installed with Redhat Enterprise 5.3 (64 bit). I have downloaded the drivers from ATI and try to install it but just cannot get it to display to two screen. When I try to configure it via command line, I got:

# /usr/bin/aticonfig --initial
Found fglrx primary device section
Using /etc/X11/xorg.conf
Saved back-up to /etc/X11/xorg.conf.fglrx-3

Is there something I need to do on the backend?

Thank.

Regards
Henry

Re: Graphic cards trouble

Execute the command:

/usr/bin/config-system-display

Then configure your video card and set it up for dual displays.

That worked for me with a older card that I had laying around.

Give that a try.

Re: Graphic cards trouble

Shalom,

system-config-display --reconfig

ATI drivers designed for your system should install without you having to play around with the configuration files.

Re: Graphic cards trouble

Sorry about the filename, I was reciting from memory the name of the file, but I thought it may get you close enough to figure out the right utility to use.

/usr/bin/system-config-display

and of course --reconfig

Cheers,
Rick
