Re: HBA card not detecting

Hi,

What is the unknown/UNCLAIMED device at 0/5/1/0 HW path? Is here where HBA is installed?

Who has the certificate is HBA is supported by HP? I think not:

In any case check here (SPOCK) about the appropriate compatibility info:

Re: HBA card not detecting

hi,

suspecting the supported driver software is missing here. Find the HBA card product number and search appropriate driver from below link.

Verfiy #swlist with product no to confirm whether already got installed.

https://h20392.www2.hp.com/portal/swdepot/displayProductInfo.do?productNumber=FibrChanl-01

Check the supported h/w also...

Re: HBA card not detecting

In the OS side while booting it is showing like
Configuring HP Fibre Channel FCD Mass Storage interfaces ...... OK

and in the syslog it is showing like
Mar 9 15:53:59 newbilphr vmunix: fcd: Unsupported svid 0x1077 or ssid 0x0131
Mar 9 15:53:59 newbilphr vmunix: init of hardware not successful. id=10772312 and my_isc=50

Re: HBA card not detecting

It seems the card is not supported. Please check with Qlogic for any HP-UX drivers.

Also check the hardware support matrix.

http://h18000.www1.hp.com/products/quickspecs/11729_div/11729_div.HTML

If the card is not in the list, then it is not supported.

Re: HBA card not detecting

For HP-UX systems, non-HP cards simply will not work. HP brands 3rd party cards but almost always changes the firmware and therefore the card's version ID. You have to use HP-branded cards in HP-UX.

Re: HBA card not detecting

Some 3rd party devices have 3rd party drivers (of course not supported by HP, but needed for such device).
I'm sure you need a 3rd party driver for this card.

Hope this helps!
Regards
Torsten.
