HP Cluster service Gaurd issue

We are running service guard v11.18.The issue we are having is that intermittently after the package is stopped for a business copy it fails to start again on the node it was originally on.
The following is an extract from the log file:
Couldn't deactivate volume group "/dev/vg03":

No such file or directory
Oct 18 22:00:13 - vgchange -a n /dev/vg03 failed, trying again.
vgchange: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c10t0d3":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to
this volume group
vgchange: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c14t0d3":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to
this volume group
vgchange: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c16t0d3":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to
this volume group
vgchange: Warning: couldn't query physical volume "/dev/dsk/c18t0d3":
The specified path does not correspond to physical volume attached to
this volume group

This only occurs now and again and fails to come back up after the backup any ideas?

Re: HP Cluster service Gaurd issue

Do those disks match waht you see in "strings lvmtab" for that volume group?

Is the business copy presented to the same host or to another host?

On a seperate note... why are you stopping a cluster package just to take a business copy - I wouldn't expect you'd need to do that?

ioscan -kfnCdisk
and
strings /etc/lvmtab

from the computer ?

Re: HP Cluster service Gaurd issue

Files attached,The same disks are displayed for the volume group as per what the cluster is querying.A reboot of the box is the only way I can see that resolves this issue

Re: HP Cluster service Gaurd issue

Maxine,

In the ioscan output the following disks :
/dev/dsk/c10t0d3
/dev/dsk/c14t0d3
/dev/dsk/c16t0d3
/dev/dsk/c18t0d3
/dev/dsk/c20t0d3
/dev/dsk/c6t0d3
not found.
Can you try to find why they disappeared. AFAIU, this is not a SG problem, probably you have some disconnection on your storage.
Check the storage staus, run ioscan -fn and try to find the lost disks.

Re: HP Cluster service Gaurd issue

The ioscan output shows those disks are available and claimed. I think you might hjave disconnected the fiber cables (probably two cables going to the Fiber switch, and two going from the switch to the SAN). and put them back in the wrong order.

Re: HP Cluster service Gaurd issue

If the cables were incorrect why is that it fails only sometimes is it possible to over load those cables at certain times?
