HP_DL380 Linux RedHat 7.3 or Enterprise 3 partitions

Hi,
I have server HP DL380 G3, OS RedHat 7.3 on disk array raid 5. I will upgrade to RedHat Enterprise server 3. Is possible add disk to array and increase (extend) online partition size without destroy data?
Thank You

It is possible.

Some notes:

Red Hat 7.3 is not upgradeable to Red HAt ES 3.0. That means configurations and such will not be mirgraed, they will be destoryed. I've done this upgrade.

You have to back up your relavent configuration files for important services. The httpd server will not upgrade in place. Its apache 1.3 in 7.3 and 2.0 in ES 3.0.

To accomplish the data expansion is easier.

When you boot off the Red Hat ES 3.0 CD you'll get a chance to preserve any filesystem you wish. Choose not to format the filesytem /yourdata and the data will not be touched.

Then you can expand it after the upgrade assuming there are disk resources available. You can't expand during the upgrade, but if you leave diskspace un-used you can do so afterwards.

Hi SEP and all,
thank You for help.

But how expand (increase) partition size afterwards? What program or utility expand online partition size on Linux without data destroy?
