HP Health ans snmp agent on Debian lenny 64bits
hello,
I download lenny-deliverables-20081028 and install hp-health 8.2.0-1~20081010 and hp-snmp-agents 8.2.0-1~20080930 on an HP DL360G5 with P400i SAS raid card.
I modify my snmpd.conf to add :
dlmod cmaX /usr/lib64/libcmaX64.so
rwcommunity private 127.0.0.1
rocommunity public 127.0.0.1
rocommunity public localhost
and I see in the log when I restart snmpd :
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 1 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 2 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 3 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 5 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 6 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 8 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 9 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 10 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 11 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 14 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 15 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 16 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 21 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 22 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 23 will be sent on port 25376 to hp Advanced Server Management_Peer
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 18 handler has disconnected
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: cmaX: subMIB 18 will be sent on port 25393 to cpqnicd
Jun 3 14:53:05 vithyp1 snmpd[8591]: NET-SNMP version 5.4.1
So I mean snmpd can communicate with HP agents to retrieve information.
And some daemon is running :
root 18964 1 0 12:19 ? 00:00:00 hpasmlited -f /dev/ipmi1
root 18988 1 0 12:19 pts/0 00:00:00 cmahealthd -p 30 -s OK -t OK -i
root 19003 1 0 12:19 pts/0 00:00:00 cmastdeqd -p 30

root 19052 1 0 12:19 pts/0 00:00:00 cmasm2d -p 30
root 19054 1 0 12:19 pts/0 00:00:00 cmasm2d -p 30

root 19206 1 0 12:19 pts/0 00:00:00 cmanicd
But, when I want some information about logical drive, I've got this error :
# snmpwalk -v 2c -c public localhost .1.3.6.1.4.1.232.3.2.3.1.1.4
SNMPv2-SMI::enterprises.232.3.2.3.1.1.4 = No Such Instance currently exists at this OID
Any idea ?
David.

Re: HP Health ans snmp agent on Debian lenny 64bits
Shalom David,
Is all the software you installed supported on Debian Lenny?
What I'm asking is does the software appear on an HP certification matrix. If not, it might not work.
