Hi All
I have hp ux 11i server(cluster) with HP open view and SIG configured in it.
I have Configured the servers is such a way that all SNMP traps will forward to a SUN server, but we r not able to see any traps from the SUN server
when i see the log file for snmp it is saying that "setvar for subagent 0,1,2,3 are not started".
then i execute the command ss7SNMPAgent -displayTrapDoc there are some traps but at last it is telling that SNMP Master Agent is stoped.
now how to sole this problem ?
i have combained both log file as a sigle file and i have attached in this mail
plz help me out.

Solution
I wonder if this is a network issue ?
have you tryed the 'snmpwalk' to the sun server's IP address from hp-ux and also from a linux box ?
are the messages getting to the sun server ?
a couple of things on the hp-ux side:
(1) try running: TCPDUMP to see the packets
being sent to the SUN's ip address.
(2) try testing using 'logger' on hp-ux to the SUN's IP address in sylog:
- $ logger -t hey -p local1.info "THIS ME"
- update syslog conf file to route any local1.* messages to the SUN's IP address for general Logging.. does the SUN pickup these messages ?
