HP-UX 11.11 Mozilla
Hello,
I am hoping someone can assist with this problem. I have a J6750 2x875mhz workstation that I would like to use more fully as a secondary machine to my Solaris box. The only problem I have is running any version of Mozilla. After I start using the browser, after navigating to approximately 3-4 pages, the browser loses its ability to resolve anything even though the servers dns resolution continues working without error. I've set the nsswitch.conf properly and my networking is without flaw. The browse does not become unresponsive - I can stop page loading and reload, but once it gets into this state, the only solution is to stop/start the browser.
As stated earlier, I have had this problem with Mozilla on HP-UX for a long time and am wondering if this is inherent in the breed.
I am open to any alternative browsers, but would be ecstatic if there were a solution to this problem.
Thanks for your help.
Emery Rudolph

Re: HP-UX 11.11 Mozilla
Goodmorning,
I don't think this is a networking issue, I think this is a patch or firefox issue. You could try to download the latest HPUX version of Firefox and the GTK Libraries from the link below. I would also advice you to update your java version to the current level.

Besides the Firefox, GTK and java versions I would advice you to install the latest patch bundles for HPUX 11.11.

Best regards,
Robert-Jan

Re: HP-UX 11.11 Mozilla
Emery,
I use Firefox, Mozilla and Netscape very successfully on HP-UX 11.11 workstation. Whichever one of these is your preference, I would follow R-J's advice and make sure I was using the latest one. All can be found using the www.hp.com/go/DESTINATION paradigm:
http://www.hp.com/go/firefox
http://www.hp.com/go/mozilla
http://www.hp.com/go/netscape (oops - 404 nowdays!)
