HP-UX 11.31 DCOE (Sep 2010) How to install CDE and which media is it in?

Hi,

I installed HP-UX 11i v3 DCOE (from September 2010 media). But

# swlist | grep CDE
# swlist | grep CDE*

Mounted the DVD1

Please let me know whether i am looking at the right media?

That is the guy you want to install.

you can do swinstall -i

Then select it from the list, mark it and then use the menu to install it.

Afterward Also:

vi /etc/rc.config.d/xfs

Set the first variable, which controls start up at boot time for the font server to 1.

Save

/sbin/init.d/xfs start

Sorry - accidentally i hit the submit button.

So my question is I don't see CDE installed on my system and when I am trying to install CDE from OS Media1, it says it's already installed.

Hi SEP,

When I ran "swinstall -i" and selected /cdrom in the menu as source. I couldn't fine "CDE B.11.31 HP-UX CDE User Interface" in the list.

Is it on the other Media???

Hi:

With 11.31, CDE is an optional product. Select the CDE-xxx bundle where "xxx" is the language you want, as for example, "CDE-English". You will find this bundle in your core OS DVD. If I recall correctly, you will find CDE on the second OE DVD.
