When cache battery failed on an EVA controller, the Secure Path on HP-UX 11.23 move LUN paths to the alternate controller:
TGT/LUN Device WWLUN_ID H/W_Path #_Paths
1/ 5 c9t1d5 6005-08B4-0001-0B85-0001-7000-008B-0000 2
255/255/0/1.5
Controller Path_Instance HBA Preferred? Path_Status
P5849D4AAOP01R no
c7t1d6 td0 no Active
Controller Path_Instance HBA Preferred? Path_Status
P5849D4AAOP02N no
c8t1d6 td0 no ****FAILED
The configuartion of HP-UX 11.31 is supporting EVA 5k (active-passive arrays) by the load_bal_policy attribute is set to preferred_path:
# scsimgr get_attr -D /dev/rdisk/disk18 -a preferred_path -a load_bal_policy
name = preferred_path
current = 0/5/1/1.0x50001fe1500123dc.0x4001000000000000(lunpath19)
name = load_bal_policy
current = preferred_path
Though when cache battery failed, the HP-UX 11.31 not move LUN paths to the alternate controller and disk operation failed.
Have any idea how to repair this issue?
