HP-UX forum approaching 1000 pages

Hello friends,

I do not know if you already noticed it, but currently we move at about 10 pages a week.

This means, we will reach 1000 pages around the beginning of the next month. Now this should be a real reason to party and I think Dan and Team deserve a gift from our side.

I would suggest, that we collect SMALL grafic files (means 20k-30k), which could contain either a small picture of yours or may be a scanned signature.
When we finally reach 1000 pages, we can compose all these files to a very big greeting card for Dan and Team for their excellent work in running the forums.

Open for input and comments and extensions.

So please do not start attaching graphics right now. I'd really like to have some feedback BEFORE we actually start it. This gives some additional time to hunt for a webcam or a scanner :-)

Captain, I'll be checking the dilithium crystals shortly, because at 1000 pages, it is sure to blow!

Dan and his team should have the gift, they earned it, thanks!

Re: HP-UX forum approaching 1000 pages

Knowing Dan, I'd suspect he'd rather have a big juicy pizza!
You know we can order one on-line....
I can see it now 2 dozen pizzas hit the door at the same time. Hell he'd be the hero of the office that day!

But he'd probably settle for a card ;^)

I think when I started foruming in Feb the pgs were around 750 or so. Man we're rocking this joint now aren't we!

Cheers,
Jeff

Hi Volker,
Great idea ...
I wonder if we will keep moving at the same pace during the summer holidays.

Now ... where did I leave that HP scanner ... :-)

Tom

Re: HP-UX forum approaching 1000 pages

Jolly idea, Volker,

I love it!

But maybe we should not address Dan alone, but Dan and the whole ITRC-team (Jeff, Claudia, and more than a dozen others, AFAIK).
And putting "faces" to all of us to our names/handles would last longer than a pizza (who would love the pizza the other day?) IMHO.

And the whole thing could be posted to Dan's "success" thread, of course!

I would attach a picture, however everytime I try to take a picture of my self, the camera self-destructs.

Does anyone out there have a camera designed to take on pictures of ugly people?

I think it would be kind of cool if Dan could incorporate a way for us to be able to zoom back to those first few pages; A kind of nostalgic tour if you will.

Congrats to the ITRC and Dan.

Re: HP-UX forum approaching 1000 pages

Hi Volker and Gang!

Well, you can "zoom" back into time...

Simply edit the link of the current page in your browser. For example, to see page #955 of the HP-UX family (the current "end") your link is:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/FamilyHome/1,,117!1!955,00.html

From there, to jump to page #100, edit the link to be:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/FamilyHome/1,,117!1!100,00.html

Notice that '117' denotes the HP-UX family. For 'Servers' it's '122' and hence (the last) page #95 of the Servers family is:

http://forums.itrc.hp.com/cm/FamilyHome/1,,122!1!95,00.html

Each forum has a unique "home" key. Click on "Storage" for instance, and you'll note that it's '120'.

Happy reading :-)

Regards!
