HP-UX installation on C3600 Visulise Work Station.

Hi All,

Can some one tell me how to Install Os on Graphics Visulise Work Station. Which CD's are required for the installaiton for Ver 11.00. Which setting I have to do during the installation , like 64 bit, CDE environment etc.

Hi,

Simply you have to boot through the CD titled "Install update recovery Core OS " on it's label.

When you start your worksttaion you get a message stating "press any key t ointerupt the boot process in 10 second" .

Interrupt the boot process.

You will PDC main menu.

Here you type "sea" to search the available boot devices.

It will list you the devices and out of which one will be your cd drive (Ex. P1)

type "bo p1" ( incase cdrom id is P1 )
don't interract with IPL.

From now rest all is menu driven in easy english.

Hi

This is easy to setup. Follow these steps

Insert the Core OS CD to Cdrom drive, While inetializing, Disturb the autoboot by pressing a key. Now it will come to main menu, Here U give "search" command. This will list the hardware path and Index of all HDDs and CDROM drive. Note down the Index of CDROM Drive, It will be like P0, P1, P2...etc. Suppose ur CDROM drive is P2, Then

main Menu>bo P2

Now System will try to boot from CDROM drive, Means Installation will get started. Next U will get a menu to select Installation type, Select the type here. Next U will get a menu for selecting environent, root HDD, File system sizes...etc. Select 64 bit CDE and other parameters as per ur requirement.

Now system will copy depots, It will take around 1 and half hr and automatically restarts. Next system will ask system name IP address..etc. Enmter properly. Now Installation is over.

U have one more CD called Support plus, In that hardware ext patch, S/W ext patch, and qulity pack are there. Load all of this. I hope U will be clear now
